What the chapters are worth

Marks the biggest chapters held, paper by paper

Each question is worth 4 of 720 marks. Adding chapters biggest first, this is how many marks they held in each of the 10 papers. The band runs from the leanest paper to the richest; the line is the middle one. It is history, not a promise for the next paper.

Typical range: questions per paper in the middle eight of the ten papers, leaving out the single highest and lowest year (about the 10th to 90th percentile), each paper scaled to 180 questions. The ten-year average and the range are historical fact. The weighted estimate is a model: each paper's share, with recent papers counting more (half-life three years), and dropped syllabus removed. It is a guide to effort, not a forecast.

How far to trust it

A map of the paper, not a forecast

We tested the estimate on the 2022–2026 papers, each time using only the papers before it. Counting past papers beats guessing by a wide margin. Weighting recent papers more adds about one question on top of a plain count.

How to read this

Where do the questions come from?
Official NEET UG papers and answer keys published by NTA (CBSE before 2019): 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026. The May 2026 paper that was cancelled is left out of every count, as are questions NTA dropped.
What is the “weighted estimate”?
A weighted average of each chapter’s share of recent papers, with recent years counting more, scaled to a 180-question paper. Tested on the 2022–2026 papers, its top 20 topics held 22% of the next paper, against 21% for a plain ten-year count and 10% for a random 20. It is a guide to where effort pays, not a forecast of the paper.
Can anyone predict the exact questions?
No. Topics repeat, but since 2022 about 62% of each paper has tested an idea inside the topic that had never been asked before. Learning the chapter beats memorising past questions.
Which chapters are dropped?
We checked every chapter against the official NEET UG 2026 syllabus (NMC notice, 22 December 2025). Dropped chapters are greyed out and hidden by default; chapters where only part was dropped are marked.
Why do some old papers have 200 questions?
From 2021 to 2024 NEET had 200 questions, of which students answered 180. Per-paper numbers are scaled to 180 so years compare fairly.
