How to read this

What is a topic?
A topic is a named part of a chapter, such as a law, a process or a class of compounds. 1,875 of the 1,875 questions in ten years map cleanly to one; the rest are counted at chapter level only.
What does “chance asked next” mean?
The share of past papers in which topics with the same track record had at least one question. It is calibrated on the ten years of papers. It is a historical rate, not a promise about the next paper.
What is the “weighted estimate”?
A model, not a fact: a weighted average of the topic’s questions in past papers, with recent years counting more, scaled to a 180-question paper. In our backtest it beat a plain ten-year count by only about one question a paper, so read it as a guide to effort, not a forecast.
What is the strip of squares?
One square per paper from 2017 to 2026. Darker squares mean more questions; a dashed square means none that year.
