NEET 2026 Physics, question 32

Question 32 of the NEET 2026 paper (re-exam) is a Physics question from Electromagnetic Induction. Its idea, EMF from Changing Area, was asked only this once in NEET 2017–2026. The NTA final answer key gives option 2.

Q32 · Physics

A conducting loop of finite resistance lies on the x - y plane. There is a constant magnetic field in the z direction. The area of the loop varies with time t, as A=A0(1+sin⁡t)A=A_0(1+\sin t) in appropriate units. The figure that correctly indicates the qualitative behaviour of the power P dissipated in the loop as a function of time is :

The figure, described in words

Options are graphs of P vs t: (1) series of positive arches touching zero, (2) arcs dipping to zero (cusps), (3) constant, (4) increasing curve.

  1. 1[graph: P vs t, repeated arches starting from zero (|sin|-like humps)]
  2. 2[graph: P vs t, starts at maximum, falls to zero and rises again (cusp at zero)]Official answer
  3. 3[graph: P constant with time]
  4. 4[graph: P increasing with time (curve rising upward)]

Official answer: option 2 · NTA final answer key
