NEET 2020 Physics, question 170

Question 170 of the NEET 2020 paper (code E1) is a Physics question from Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance. Its idea, Potential of an Electric Dipole, was asked twice, in 2020 and 2024, across NEET 2017–2026. The NTA final answer key gives option 2.

Q170 · Physics

A short electric dipole has a dipole moment of 16×10−916\times10^{-9} C m. The electric potential due to the dipole at a point at a distance of 0.6 m from the centre of the dipole, situated on a line making an angle of 60° with the dipole axis is :

(14πϵ0=9×109 N m2/C2)\left(\frac{1}{4\pi\epsilon_0} = 9\times10^9\ \mathrm{N\,m^2/C^2}\right)
