Human Reproduction
9 lessons 74 min 1 simulations 10 practice questions
This chapter follows human reproduction from the organs that make gametes, through the formation of sperm and ova, the monthly cycle in females, fertilisation and implantation, to pregnancy, birth and milk production. It builds on the cell division you studied in Class 11 and sets up the next chapter on reproductive health.
What the exam asks
NEET leans on precise details here: which cell does what inside the testis, the counts and stages of spermatogenesis and oogenesis, the hormone behind each event of the menstrual cycle, where fertilisation happens, and which hormones appear only during pregnancy and where each one is made. Marks are usually lost by swapping FSH with LH, Sertoli with Leydig cells, or by forgetting that the secondary oocyte finishes meiosis II only after a sperm enters it.
