An ideal inductor (no resistance) is connected across an ac source. Read the Assertion (A) and Reason (R) and choose the correct option.

Assertion (A): The average power delivered to the inductor over a complete cycle is zero.
Reason (R): In an ideal inductor the current lags the voltage by π/2, so the power factor cos φ is zero.
