Given below are two statements : Statement (I) : [figure: cis-1,2-dichloroethene] is more polar than [figure: cis-1,2-dibromoethene]. Statement (II) : Boiling point of [figure: trans-1,2-dibromoethene] is lower than [figure: cis-1,2-dibromoethene] but it is more polar than [figure: cis-1,2-dibromoethene]. In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below :

Statement I compares the skeletal structure of Cl-CH=CH-Cl drawn cis (both Cl on the same side) with the cis Br-CH=CH-Br. Statement II uses a trans-drawn Br-CH=CH-Br (Br on opposite sides), then the cis Br-CH=CH-Br twice (both drawn with both Br on the same side).
